The Hair Of Your Dreams!

Did you know that Erik of Norway offers an amazing specialty service? That’s right, we’re talking extensions! How else can you get longer, thicker hair in only one day? Several of our talented stylists have the education to apply extensions. It does not matter your hair type, extensions can be done on all types. Extensions are ideal for anyone that would like to add length to their hair, or even if you just want more hair to have a wider array of styling options. Extensions can be ordered as straight, wavy, or even curly. There are a lot of different colors to choose from, and the extensions can also be matched to your current hair color. We use only the best quality extensions and they are 100% human hair so they can be cared for just like your own hair. A consultation is required so that the stylist can discuss maintenance and pricing with you and put your hair extension order in right away. The number to call is 262-241-5111.

The following pictures depict a few of our guests, before and after their first extension visits.  The fourth picture is an example of a guest that came in for extensions to specifically add fullness- the others are for length!

October- National Breast Cancer Awareness Month

“October was declared “National Breast Cancer Awareness Month” to increase awareness of the disease and to raise funds for research into its cause, prevention, diagnosis, treatment, and cure. It was founded in 1985 to promote mammography as the most effective weapon in the fight against breast cancer. The pink ribbon was first used as the symbol of NBCAM in New York, by the Susan G Komen Foundation in 1991. It is estimated that 200,00 women may be diagnosed with breast cancer this year. Early detection is the key to fighting breast cancer and it is important to get screening mammograms as recommended by your doctor. “

Show your support by wearing pink! At Erik of Norway we carry several great pink products whose proceeds benefit various Breast Cancer Awareness Foundations.

We also offer pink hair extensions for $12. Support a great cause in style! Proceeds benefit the Susan G. Komen Foundation.

Fall

For many of us, fall is our favorite season. We love the cooler weather which allows us to wear cozy sweaters, scarves, boots and snuggle up! We love sipping a warm beverage while watching football or walking through the leaves… dressing up for Halloween and giving out candy to the neighborhood kids! What’s not to love, really?!

Erik of Norway at New York Fashion Week 2012

September is an exciting month for everyone in the fashion and beauty industries. Our stylist BJ had the privilege of working with many amazing designers to showcase her talent on their models. This marked her seventh year at fashion week!

BJ filled us in:

What shows did you work on this year?

“I worked with Anna Francesca, Betsey Johnson, and several new designers from Europe. I also worked with other designers for their tests and trials.”

Who comes up with the looks for the models’ hair?

“We meet with designers and collaborate.”

What products did you use on the models?

“Aveda!”

What is the most exciting thing about fashion week?

“The whole experience! I have learned so much.”

Did you see any celebrities?

“I ran smack into Kim Catrall, literally! There are celebrities at every show, and to be honest you don’t notice as much after awhile.”

What trends (makeup, hair, or clothes) did you see that can be used in everyday life?

“Soft hair inspired by the 1940s, classic alligator pieces, and very bold lips.”

Who inspires you?

“The team I work with- they are some of the best in the world.”

What is your favorite show that you have worked on to date?

“G-Star- over and above one of the most put together shows in Fashion Week for hair, clothes, and stage.”

Do you have any advice for other stylists that are looking to get started at fashion week?

“Never give up on your dream. Anything you work hard enough at, and want bad enough, you will get!”

The following pictures were snapped by BJ as she was working backstage at the Anna Francesca show, which was inspired by “Wizard of Oz”.
